Today, ALTA Photographic Inc. provides private label chemical in liquid and dry powder configurations to large and small customers, including several Fortune 500 companies working under confidentiality agreements. Our state-of-the-art laboratory can provide any required quality assurance tests and archived data for the manufacture of our customers' product. ALTA can package product in a multitude of standard or custom containers, ranging in size from 4 ounce to 250-gallon totes or blended dry powder bags or containers. ALTA can provide warehousing and drop shipment services and can build inventory, as needed, to meet your forecasted requirements. Because our centralized location is equal distance between the East and West coasts, your shipping transit time and costs are significantly reduced. ALTA Photographic Inc. was founded in San Diego,
California, in 1974 by Gerald Alletag. ALTA specialized in the
development and manufacture of black and white photographic chemical
solutions used in the graphic art, microfilm, medical imaging,
and professional darkroom industries. In the late 70's, ALTA
expanded operations to include a manufacturing facility in Glen
Burnie Maryland. In addition to marketing its own line of high-quality
photographic chemicals, ALTA also manufactured private label
photographic chemicals.
ALTA
was purchased in 1991 by Floyd and Richard Covert. The company
experienced a change in direction, focusing primarily on private
label opportunities in the production of both photographic and
non-photographic chemicals and expanding production to include
dry powder blending and packaging. In the summer of 1992, ALTA
decided to consolidate operations and announced that the company
would relocate to a more centralized site. A 35,000 square foot
plant specifically designed for the manufacture of liquid and
dry powder chemical products was constructed in the Bartlesville
Industrial Park in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. By March of 1994,
the leased locations in California and Maryland had been vacated,
and operations had begun in Oklahoma.
